Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus), the world No. 1 player in women's tennis, has expressed dissatisfaction with the allocation of the French Open, the second major tournament of the year.

Sabalenka defeated Zheng Chin-wen (7th, China) 2-0 in the women's singles quarter-final at the French Open at Roland Garros in Paris on Thursday.

Sabalenka, who is trying to win her first French Open, said in a post-match interview, "As it was a big match, it would have been nice to start the game a little later so that more people could see it."

"The match between Sabalenka and Chung Chin-won began at 11 a.m. that day," the Associated Press said. "The main court of the stadium has 15,000 seats, but a large part of them were empty."

The French Open has been playing night games on the main court since 2021, with only four women's games being allocated as night games.

This year, all night events since the opening were filled with men's events.

Today (4th), the 2023 U.S. Open champion Coco Goff (2nd) and this year's Australian Open winner Madison Keys (8th, USA) will start at 11 a.m. local time, and the quarter-final match between Alexander Zverev (3rd, Germany) and Novak Djokovic (6th, Serbia) will be held at night. 안전놀이터

Sabalenka said, "I hope you treat the men's and women's games equally," adding, "I think the women's game deserves to be on the bigger stage."

"There is a better side (for me personally, the morning game) because I finish the game early and I can afford to look around the city in the afternoon," he said, stressing that his opinion is an argument for women's tennis as a whole.

At the beginning of this year's French Open, Ons Jabeur (Tunisia) also publicly expressed dissatisfaction with the allocation of women's game time.
